Dedicated to the craft

My English academic background includes achieving full marks on both of my English A-level exams and being awarded a 19th Century literature scholarship ahead of my post-graduate studies at Oxford Brookes University. During my time studying in Oxford, I enjoyed being a Bodleian reader and delivering classes at the Oxford Intensive School of English.

Away from the page

I’m an avid chess player and have competed in the Four Nations Chess League and the Hastings International Chess Congress, along with reaching the top 1% of 25 million players on Chess.com. I also enjoy racket sports and playing the piano, but most of my time is spent reading – I’m a particular fan of the work of Ian McEwan, Sally Rooney, and Jonathan Franzen.
